Pensacola Celebrity Chefs Welcome Home Reception at Jackson's Steakhouse

On March 27, Five of Florida's finest chefs will prepare a historic dinner at New York's acclaimed James Beard House as part of Viva Florida 500, the celebration of 500 years of Florida history.

 

The culinary event, hosted by Visit Pensacola and the Pensacola Celebrity Chefs, will bring together modern cuisine created from the Gulf Coast's local bounty and informed by 500 years of gustatory history. Pensacola Celebrity Chefs Dan Dunn of H2O at the Hilton Pensacola Beach Gulf Front, Irv Miller of Jackson's Steakhouse, Jim Shirley of the Fish House, Gus Silivos of Skopelos/Nancy's Haute Affairs and Frank Taylor of Global Grill will take historical recipes that have been used in Florida for hundreds of years modernized with their own artistic touch.

 

For those not able to make the trip up to the Big Apple, we invite you to join us at Jackson's Steakhouse on Sunday, April 1, for a welcome home reception beginning at 2:00 p.m. Each of the chefs will be on hand to meet and greet as well as share stories from the event. Chef Miller will create a selection of appetizers to enjoy while visiting. In addition, Visit Pensacola will be presenting a slide show throughout the course of the event with photographic highlights of the chefs, New York, and, of course, the dinner event at the James Beard House.
