Enterprise Zone

Operated by the City of Pensacola, the Enterprise Zone offers multiple refunds, rebates, tax credits and tax exemptions for qualifying businesses; and all of the Downtown District is located within the Enterprise Zone. Ed Spears can assist new businesses with the process of determining eligibility for the Enterprise Zone incentives. Retail Storefront Façade Improvement Program

The Retail Storefront Façade Improvement Program is designed to assist property and business owners rehabilitating the exterior facades of ground floor retail storefronts to create a positive visual impact, stimulate private investment, and complement other community revitalization efforts. Participants are eligible to receive a rebate in the form of a loan, forgivable over a five year period, for rehabilitation purposes upon the completion of their Project. Participants may receive a rebate of one dollar for every three dollars spent on the Project up to the maximum rebate amounts starting at $20,000.

Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Incentives

The Chamber offers assistance with incentives aimed at Targeted Industries, Workforce Training and Special Opportunities. A list of all of the available incentives can be found on the Chamber’s website, and the economic development staff can help with the process of applying for the benefits of the incentives.

One-Stop-Shop Retail Permitting

The DIB offers one-stop-shop permitting for new retail businesses opening within the core retail district. By facilitating the gathering of all City permitting officials with your contractors and design professionals at the new business’ location the permitting process is largely streamlined, allowing for an easier, more timely permitting process. Call or email the DIB for an appointment to review your business plan and set a date for a one-stop-shop permitting meeting.
